Huawei Nova 5 series launches

Huawei has launched the Nova 5 series of smartphones in China. The Nova 5 series line-up contains three smartphones phones: a premium Nova 5 Pro, standard Nova 5 and the Nova 5i.

The standard and the Pro model offer similar design specifications and highlight a waterdrop notched display, and the Nova 5i offers a punch hole presentation.

Huawei Nova 5 Pro, Nova 5: Initially

The Nova 5 Pro and Nova 5 offer a 6.39-inch waterdrop notched OLED display with full-HD+ resolution and 19.5:9 aspect ratio.

The Pro model is fueled by a Kirin 980 chipset, and the standard Nova 5 comes with a newly designed Kirin 810 processor.

The two smartphones powered by a 3,500mAh battery with 40W fast charging support, up to 8GB RAM, up to 256GB capacity, and run Android Pie software.

Nova 5 Pro and Nova 5 offer a quad rear camera setup

As far as optics, the Huawei Nova 5 Pro and Nova 5 sport a quad rear camera setup including 48MP (f/1.8) primary camera, combined with a 16MP (f/2.2) ultra-wide-angle lens, a 2MP (f/2.4) macro camera, and another 2MP lens with an f/2.4 aperture to catch depth details.

On the front, both the devices offer a 32MP (f/2.0) shooter for selfies.


Nova 5i: At a glance

In the interim, Huawei Nova 5i accompanies a 6.4-inch punch hole display with 1080x2310 pixels resolution and 398 PPI.

The handset is supported by a Kirin 710 chipset, combined with up to 8GB of RAM and up to 128GB of capacity which is expandable up to 512GB via microSD.

Inside, it houses a 4,000mAh battery with 10W fast charging support and runs Android Pie OS.

Huawei Nova 5i gets a quad camera setup

The Huawei Nova 5i houses a quad camera setup including a 24MP primary sensor with f/1.8 aperture, an 8MP ultra-wide-angle sensor, a 2MP (f/2.4) macro sensor, and a 2MP depth sensor.

For selfie, it gets a 24MP (f/2.0), shooter.

Nova 5 series smartphones: Pricing

In China, the Huawei Nova 5 Pro starts CNY 2,999 for its base-end 8GB/128GB model and goes up to CNY 3,399 for its top-end model with 8GB/256GB setup.

The standard Nova 5 with its 8GB/128GB configuration costs CNY 2,799.

Ultimately, the Nova 5i starts at CNY 1,999.
